One of the problems with reading video projector reviews is that you are usually reading a biased one from the maker.  I have read hundreds of video projector reviews and sampled several of them as well. Since it is such a passion, I wanted to provide some independent information I have found on many different video projectors.

When you read the video projector reviews from the maker they obviously will tell you why their’s is the best. That is just smart marketing. Optoma HD20 1080p Projector

The Optoma HD20 projector is a great projector for home theater and multimedia. You get the very best picture resolution and will be amazed at watching the latest movies on the big screen.

Optoma chimes in with there own home theater projector with the Optoma HD66. It is a great projector to use in a  home setting for movies or gaming. It is also a good projector to use in a set place like classrooms or conference rooms.

What To Look For When Reading Video Projector Reviews

When you are reading video projector reviews there are a few things I would be looking for when reading them from here or anywhere else. These are a few technical details that are important when considering any video projector.

Video Projector Reviews Key #1 – Lumens

Lumens are important when reading video projector reviews because you will want to look for the bigger number. This basically means how bright the image is when cast onto a wall, screen, etc. The brighter the lumens the more flexible the projector is under many lighting conditions. If you will be using a projector in situations with lots of sunlight, for example, then you will need a higher lumens rating.

Video Projector Reviews Key #2 – Resolution

I am sure this one is thought of by many people already. Many projectors today can output the highest 1080p resolution, but you can save a little money if you are happy with a 720p projector. You will still get a great image at a price that is less than the 1080p variety. Also, keep in mind that just because it says 720p that does not mean you cannot connect a device that is 1080p like a Blu-ray player.

Video Projector Reviews Key #3 – Size

Another consideration when reading video projector reviews is size. This is actually becoming more of a consideration when looking for a projector, especially with the advent of all the pico, or palm-sized, projectors that are becoming more popular. Consider if you want a small, portable projector or if your projector will be stationary for the most part. The larger, more stationary projectors will generally give you better resolution, and lumens. The smaller ones, while portable, will sacrifice some of that quality.
